Curio is a place for collectors to catalog what they love, list items they'd trade, message each other and talk in communities. These guidelines help keep it a good place to be.
They apply to everything you share on Curio: messages, trade listings, your profile, and community posts and comments. You agree to them before you first send a message, list an item for trade or post in a community. If we change them in a way that matters, the App asks you to agree to the new version.
1. What Curio does and doesn't do
- Curio helps you find other collectors and talk with them. When you arrange a trade, you and the other collector agree on it between yourselves.
- Curio doesn't check items, handle payment or shipping, or hold anything for you. It doesn't guarantee any collector, item or trade.
- Trades on Curio are item for item. Never send money for a trade.
- Curio staff will never ask for your password, a payment or a gift card.
2. Be honest and keep your word
- Describe items accurately: their condition, edition, grade, flaws, and whether they are authentic.
- Use photos of the actual item you're offering.
- Do what you agreed to do. If plans change, tell the other collector.
3. What's not allowed
- Scams and fraud, such as taking someone's item and never sending yours, or passing off a fake slab or a counterfeit as real.
- Misdescribing items, or sending a different item from the one you agreed on.
- Asking for payment for a trade. Don't ask for or offer money, gift cards, crypto or any other payment, and don't push anyone to pay outside Curio.
- Harassment and hate, including bullying, threats, and attacks on someone's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Inappropriate content, such as sexual or graphically violent posts, messages or photos.
- Pretending to be someone else, such as another collector, a brand, or Curio staff.
- Sharing other people's personal information, such as their address, phone number, email address or photos of them, without their permission.
- Pressuring someone about feedback, such as threatening a bad review, or offering a good one in exchange for something.
- Spam, such as sending the same message to many collectors, unwanted ads, or links meant to trick people.
- Illegal or stolen items. Don't list or trade anything that is stolen, or that is illegal to own or trade where you or the other collector live.
- Trading if you're under 18. Curio is not for children under 13 at all.
Breaking these guidelines can lead to a warning, the removal of what you shared, or the closing of your account.
4. Blocking
- You can block a collector from their profile, a conversation, a message, a trade listing, a community post or a comment.
- Once you block someone, they can't message you or start a conversation with you, and you won't see their messages, listings, matches, posts or comments.
- They aren't told that you blocked them, but they may notice that their messages don't send.
- Blocking doesn't hide your public profile or collections from them, because anyone signed in to Curio can see those.
- To see everyone you blocked, or to unblock someone, open Blocked Collectors in your Profile.
Blocking and reporting need the latest version of the Curio app.
5. Reporting
- You can report a collector, a message, a conversation, a trade listing, a community post or a comment from the same places you can block. Pick a reason and, if you like, add a short note.
- Curio keeps a copy of what you reported, so we can review it even if it is changed or deleted later.
- The person you report isn't told who reported them.
- We review every report within 3 business days. Depending on what we find, we may take no action, warn the collector, remove the content, or close the account.
- Please report honestly. Reporting someone falsely to get them in trouble is against these guidelines.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
6. If a trade goes wrong
- Report the collector in Curio, so we can review the account.
- Because no money moves through Curio, Curio can't refund you, hold money for you or make anyone ship.
- For a lost parcel, contact the carrier. If you paid money anyway, contact your bank or payment provider.
- You can also report fraud to the police or to a fraud reporting service, such as the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov in the US or Action Fraud in the UK.
7. Tips for trading
- Agree in Messages on who sends first, or meet in person in a public place.
- Sending at the same time, with tracking, helps you both.
- Check a graded item's certificate number with the grading company before you trade.
- Keep the conversation in Curio Messages, so there's a record if you need to report something.
- Be careful with anyone who asks you to pay, rushes you, or wants to move the conversation to another app.
